Real output of the free calculator (nothing edited), 10 Oct 2026

Typed into the free late-payment tool with its default sender, client and invoice number, no tone chosen (the tool picks it): amount 1000 (changed from the default 1500), due 2026-09-01, calculated up to 2026-10-01, base rate 4. The tool printed:

30 days late. Interest £9.86 (8% plus 4% base rate), fixed recovery sum £70.00, so up to £1,079.86 in total with the invoice.

Subject: Final notice, invoice INV-104: £1,000.00

Hi Sam,

Invoice INV-104 for £1,000.00 is 30 days past its due date, and I have not received payment or a payment date. Unless I receive payment or a written payment date within 7 days of this message, I will pause further work for you and consider the formal options that are open to me.

If this is not paid, I may add statutory late payment interest and the fixed recovery sum under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998. Interest so far is £9.86 (8% over the Bank of England base rate), plus £70.00 in fixed costs.

Regards,
[Your name]

This is the free calculator's wording for a 30-day-late invoice with no chases logged. Inside the app the default tone depends on how many chases you have actually sent, so a first chase starts friendly.

One list, every morning

Instead of remembering who owes what, open Chasebook and see only the invoices that need action today.

You stay in control

It never emails your clients. It writes the message, you check it and send it yourself, so the relationship stays yours.

Promises that are remembered

Log the date a client promises to pay. If it passes unpaid, the invoice returns to your list the next day with the promise noted in the message.

UK interest worked out

For UK business invoices, see the statutory interest and fixed sum so far, with the source linked. Not legal advice.

Questions

Good to know

Does Chasebook email my clients?

No. It never contacts anyone. It suggests wording that you copy and send from your own email or chat.

Which invoices does it work with?

Any. You type the client, amount, currency and due date, so it works for invoices from Stripe, PayPal, Wise, a PDF or an accounting app.

Is the interest figure legal advice?

No. It applies the UK statutory rule published on gov.uk (8% over the Bank of England base rate plus a fixed sum) to business-to-business invoices. You enter the base rate. Check your contract and the current rate, and take advice for large sums.

What happens if I lose my workspace link?

We store no email, so we cannot recover a free workspace. Save the link somewhere safe. If you pay, your key restores the workspace on a new device.

What do I get for $5 a month?

Up to 500 open invoices instead of 5, and room for 3,000 invoices in total (paid ones included) instead of 200, plus the client reliability report, a calendar feed of chase dates and CSV export. The chase list, messages and interest are free.

How do I cancel?

Cancel the subscription from the Stripe receipt email. Your invoices stay and the workspace drops back to the free plan; nothing is deleted.

Are there limits on the total number of invoices?

Yes. The free plan holds 5 open invoices at a time and 200 invoices in total, counting paid ones. The paid plan holds 500 open and 3,000 in total. Delete old paid invoices to make room.

What if it doesn't work for me?

If it doesn't work as described or you can't access it, email us within 14 days and we'll fix it or refund you. See the refund policy for details.
