Plainwork / Catalogue / Append Binder
A game master's printable binder, filed by number
44 system-neutral sheets in 8 tabs with dividers, DM-screen inserts, an A to Z index and travel, weather and price tables, on US Letter and A4.
- 44 printable sheets in 8 tabs: Start 7, Session 4, Campaign 6, Places 5, People 4, Table 5, Stuff 7, Reference 6
- Cover, 8 tab dividers with contents lists, tab labels and a spine label (54 pages in all)
- 9 filled example pages for a fictional campaign (register, two index pages, session prep, region, settlement, NPC, shop, initiative), with prices and travel times taken from the reference tables
- A to Z index sheets (176 lines, 6 per letter plus 14 spare) and a sheet register that both record the tab, so you can find a sheet from either
- 3 landscape DM-screen insert pages, four panels each (about 61 x 173 mm on Letter, 66 x 167 mm on A4): travel, weather and prices printed on one, two blank
- Reference tables: miles per day by terrain, weather by season (d12), and a price ladder in days of wages
- US Letter and A4 PDFs, an editable HTML copy of each (type, then print) and a sheet list CSV
Sheet 1.1, the filing rule (worked example, fictional campaign; the printed code such as 1.1 names the sheet, and your own number is its No.): Ashfall is No. 1 (Campaign tab), Maro Tell No. 2 (People), Dunmere No. 3 (Places), Ilse Varn No. 4 (People) and Cinder Blade No. 5 (Stuff). The register records each tab, and the A to Z index lists Ashfall, Campaign 1; Cinder Blade, Stuff 5; Dunmere, Places 3; Ilse Varn, People 4; Maro Tell, People 2. To find Cinder Blade, open the Stuff tab and turn to the sheet with 5 in its corner. Adding Brannock Hall later (a Places sheet) makes it No. 6, plus one new line under B. Nothing is re-sorted.
| Way of travelling | Road | Open country | Forest or hills | Mountain, swamp or snow |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| On foot, 3 mph x 8 h | 24 (39) | 18 (29) | 12 (19) | 6 (10) |
| Riding, 4 mph x 8 h | 32 (51) | 24 (39) | 16 (26) | 8 (13) |
Sheet 8.3, price ladder: prices are in cw, hundredths of a labourer's day wage. A plain meal is 20 cw, so at 5 coins a day it costs 1.00 coins; a private room is 100 cw, 5.00 coins. The sheet has no magic item prices because they depend on your game.
The filled example pages carry the same campaign further: Brannock Hall is No. 6, and the Rusted Kettle shop sheet prices a plain meal at 20 cw, 1.00 coin at 5 coins a day, as on sheet 8.3. Other sheets include the 30-minute session prep sheet, a large dry-erase-friendly initiative tracker, region, settlement and site sheets, NPC, faction and antagonist sheets, clocks, a shop sheet and homebrew entry sheet.
Made for
Who it's for
You never re-file
Sheets are numbered when you first use them and the alphabet lives in a fixed-line index at the front, so nothing is ever inserted between two other pages.
One matching set
44 sheets share one layout, numbering box and index habit, instead of a folder of unrelated one-off PDFs.
Prints on a plain home printer
Black-and-white design with light grey rules only, a 20 mm left margin kept clear of text and fields, writing lines at 7 mm, and every printed text 8 pt or larger.
System-neutral
No rules text, stats or monsters, so it works beside any game. It is not affiliated with any game publisher.
Consistent reference tables
Travel, weather and the price ladder are original rules of thumb, and every figure is calculated from one data file, so the pages and the screen inserts agree.

Questions
Good to know
Does it work for D&D, Pathfinder or another game?
Yes, because it contains no rules text, stats or monsters, only sheets for your own notes. The sheets use plain words such as health, rarity and level. It is not affiliated with any game publisher.
What do I get that the free sample does not have?
The free sample is 5 sheets: the start-here page, the first index page, session prep, the initiative tracker and the region sheet. The full binder adds the other 39 sheets, the rest of the index, tab dividers and labels, the screen inserts, the reference tables and the editable copy, and the pack also has 9 filled example pages so you can see a finished register, index and sheets.
Does it include magic item prices or a shop economy?
It has a price ladder for ordinary goods and services, in days of wages, so a shop's prices stay consistent with each other. It does not give magic item prices: those depend on your game's rules and how much treasure you hand out.
Will it print correctly on my printer?
I rendered every PDF page and checked the page size and the left margin by script. I could not test a physical printer. Print at 100 percent (actual size), not fit to page, and check one page before printing the rest.
Which DM screens do the inserts fit?
Each insert page has four panels, about 61 x 173 mm on Letter and 66 x 167 mm on A4, to cut apart along the dashed lines. They suit screen pockets at least that size. I have not tested them in any particular screen, so measure yours first.
Can I type into it before printing?
Yes. Open an editable HTML file in a desktop browser, click a line, box or table cell and type, then print or save as PDF. The page does not save what you type, so keep the PDF.
Can I resell or share the files?
No. They are for your own games and table use. Questions and refunds: [email protected].
What if it doesn't work for me?
If it doesn't work as described or you can't access it, email us within 14 days and we'll fix it or refund you. See the refund policy for details.
