Southeast Asia startup funding in 2026: the announced rounds, with sources

Edition 1 · last updated 17 October 2026 · data to 16 October 2026

From 1 January to 16 October 2026 we found 141 publicly announced funding rounds raised by Southeast Asian startups: 122 equity rounds, 4 mixed equity and debt, and 15 debt facilities. Each one is a row in our dataset, with the articles it was read from. This page summarises them, with the method and the gaps stated plainly.

How to read these numbers. They count rounds that were announced in an article we could cite (Tech in Asia, TechNode Global, Fintech News). Regional trackers count more because they also read company-registry filings: for January to June, DealStreetAsia and Kickstart Ventures counted 217 equity deals raising $7.25 billion, and Tracxn counted 127 funding rounds, US$7.4 billion. Our dataset has 80 equity rounds for the same months.

The headline is a few very large rounds

The 104 equity rounds with a disclosed amount add up to US$8.79B. The three largest (DayOne Data Centers, Ant International and Supabase) are US$6.20B of that, 71%. The median disclosed equity round is US$6.7M. Singapore-based companies account for 77 of the 122 equity rounds and 92% of the disclosed equity dollars. Early rounds (pre-seed, seed and pre-Series A) are 52 of the 122 equity rounds.

Two of the large rounds are by companies the sources describe as Singapore-based but whose business is mostly outside Southeast Asia: Supabase (which operates globally) and Ant International (Singapore- and Shanghai-based). Together they are US$1.70B of the US$8.79B; without them, disclosed equity is US$7.09B. Both rows are in the dataset, so you can include or drop them.

"Undisclosed" stage means the announcement did not name one. Amounts are as announced; "about" and "more than" figures are flagged in the dataset. Rows are dated by the first public report: DayOne's US$4.50B is the final close announced in June of the round first reported in January (over US$2B then), flagged as cumulative.

A firm counts as a lead only where a source names it as lead, co-lead or anchor; a sole investor or lender that no source calls the lead is listed as a participant. Different spellings of the same firm are merged. The full investor table in the dataset covers all 264 organisations named in a round, with stages and sectors, so you can filter for, say, firms that led seed rounds in Malaysia.

How this was compiled

  1. We collected every 2026 article on Tech in Asia, TechNode Global and Fintech News (Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines) that announced a raise: 490 candidate articles.
  2. We read each one and kept rounds raised by privately held tech companies based in Southeast Asia. Out of scope: fund closes, listed-company placements, M&A and stake increases with no new round, grants, project loans such as data-centre green loans, intra-group injections (money only from the parent group), and rounds still "in talks".
  3. Articles about the same round were merged (71 rounds have two or more sources). Only what the sources state was recorded; nothing is estimated except 1 currency conversion at ECB reference rates and 1 figure derived from two stated amounts, each flagged in its row.
  4. All 222 source links returned HTTP 200 when checked on 17 October 2026.

Investors are recorded as organisations. When a source says individuals or angels took part, the row says so without naming them.
