The response tells you whether the syntax is valid, whether the domain accepts mail, whether it's a known throwaway domain, whether it's a role address like admin@ or support@, and suggests a fix for common typos of gmail, hotmail, yahoo, outlook and icloud.

What it doesn't do

It checks the domain, not the mailbox: it never connects to mail servers, so it can't confirm a specific inbox exists. Nothing about your queries is stored beyond a per-IP daily counter for the free tier. For unlimited checks and the bulk endpoint (100 addresses per call), get a key on the product page.
