Printable hashi puzzles: 12 free bridges puzzles with answers
Twelve Hashiwokakero (bridges) puzzles in four sizes, free to print or solve on paper. Each has exactly one solution, checked by two separate programs, and each can be solved by logic alone: no guessing. Answers are folded under each puzzle.
How to print: use your browser's print command (Ctrl+P or Cmd+P). The page prints the puzzles in black and white; the answers print only if you open them first, so leave them closed for a clean sheet. For a fresh puzzle every day with a tap-to-play board, try today's Causeway puzzle.
How to solve, in 30 seconds
Draw straight horizontal or vertical bridges between circles. Each number is how many bridges touch that island. Between two islands you may draw one or two bridges, never more. Bridges never cross each other or pass through an island, and when you finish, every island must be joined into one connected network. Start with the biggest numbers in the corners and on the edges, where there are few places for their bridges to go. The six patterns and counting table and the full guide cover the rest.

How these puzzles were made
A program places islands and bridges at random, then keeps a board only if two independently written solvers each find exactly one solution and the first can finish it using deduction alone. Boards marked "needs the loop rule" also require you to notice that a bridge would close off a finished group of islands from the rest. These twelve are separate from the daily and practice puzzles on Causeway. The code is open source: hashi-solver-generator. Stuck? Paste a puzzle into the free hashi solver, which also lists the logic steps.
Print and share them freely for personal, classroom or club use; please do not resell them as a book.
